Hello Experts!

I have always had blood parrots in the past, so I know a little about these types of fish. I am starting a new tank and I want 2 cichlids. The 4 that I like are: Electric Blue Jack Dempsey, Green Terror, Red Devil, and Gold Sevrum. I need to know out of those four which two would get along best.
Any input is appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Tank size would help in this determination.

Of the 4 I would pick the GT and Gold Severum. EBJDs have a very high mortality rate under the 4" mark...not to mention they are expensive, they arnt a good investment really. With the two cichlids I would try to aim for a male severum and female GT to counter the GTs tendancy to be more aggressive and territorial. A group of larger tetras would be an excellent addition to break up territory and act as dithers. I would not advise the mix in less than a 4ft*2ft tank foot print.

I like the Severums. Golds, turquoise, green, red-shoulders and red. I'd get two and stick with same species.

+1 on the severums as Lady Hobbs said, I love mine.

I agree with Hobbs. You take more of a risk of having problems mixing species. Severum's are typically more mild mannered although you can always get a meanie. Great thing about Severum's is, as Hobb's mentioned, the different color variations.

You have got to see the Reds. They are soooo prudy.

Look into some Rotkeil severums, it takes them quite some time to fully color up but once they do they are very stately fish. Another more unusual severum is the Atabapo severum which have gained popularity as of late.
