Used Tank Purchase

I have been offered a used 55 gallon saltwater tank setup with stand/cabinet and light/hood for $150.

What do I need to look for? I am newbie. the only tank I have ever bought was at Petsmart?

It costs about that just for the tank so you got a good deal. Just make sure they have used it recently and there are no leaks.

make sure its in good shape, and the silicone is good and there are no cracks.

Closely examine the tank! If the tank and stand are in good condition that is a deal in itself. Plus some bonus items is awesome

Ask the guy where the tank was stored if he hasn't used it recently. If he kept it in a dry garage, the siicone may need replacing. Also check for chips and cracks in the glass.
