As mentioned awhile back I moved my fish from a 10 gal to a 25 gal, there were two angel fish 3 neons and one blood fin and a pleco, I find the angel fish now attacking the other fish. Can they not live harmioniously?

angels are cichlids, so some can be cranky and some peaceful.

They always will go after tetras, they look like little snacks. among themselves, they may fight too.

They won't eat them will they?

if a angel does catch a neon, they will eat it and shred it to bits. Angels are notorious for that

Its always a possibility.

Why didn't they eat them in the other tank?

Who knows? They could still be stressed fromt he move. Maybe its the extra room to chase them around in. It could be a number of things.

It may or may not help, but try pulling the angles out and leaving the rest of the fish in the tank for a bit...
Once all the tetras and such are comfy, and at peace in the new tank...re-introduce the angels.
This way, the angels feel like THEY are incroaching on someone elses turf and might act a little less aggressively... I've used this method in the past with good results (but different fish).

Can't say how it'd work with angels, though....worth a shot?

A good addition to that technique is to scramble the decor around.

It's a whole new tank for all of them. I can take the neons out to be safe...What could I put with the angels...in the 35 gal?

in a 35g, 3 rams, or 3 kribs could work

I am new at this...?!?!?

rams and kribs are almost always peaceful cichlids. They should get alone with 2 angels

Is the pleco o.k. the aquarium with them>
Are chihilds the only ones I can add?

in a 25, with 2 angels and a pleco, you could get away with 3 platys maybe. the trouble is that plecos get big and are messy, so you dont want to go overboard.

The best thing you could do is add bottom feeders like ghost shrimp and loaches and corys. they will clean and most often stay small

plecos get big, and make alot of waste since they eat alot

...you can't really have a regular plec in a small tank...they grow to be 2' long or so...

...but you can have a smaller species...the rubber-lipped and bristlenose are fairly easy to find...and will do well in a 25-30 g tank...

...only one though...they still grow to about 6"...

So the pleco isn't o.k in a 25 gallon?

the smaller varieties like rubberlips will, but common plecos get huge and need at least a 125g

I'll have to get rid of him when he gets a little bigger

It would be nice if the petstores could inform you before purchasing
