I just took these today, the light is perfect and the weather is glorious[if a bit hot].The growth in and out of the water is doing fabulous as are my fish.I have a new member of my little garden of Eden,he was an original denison if I remember my bible study,no pics of him but he is most of 5 ft long and is the reason I have no frogs anymore:help:

the last pic is my favorite part of the pond.It is a Japanese painted fern nestled in rockwork beneath a dwarf laceleaf Japanese maple. The fern is one of 2 plants that made it back into my planting scheme after I tore down my small pond. The other is the tall meadowsweet plant that helps hide the electrical box.

I do have a UV but when the tree canopy and all the vegatation grows in like it is now it stays clear all by itself.Earlier this spring when there were no leaves on the trees in my yard the water was very green and I had lots of blanket weed as well.Full sun is a problem even with a UV.Thank you for the comps!
Rue: Thanks for the job offer! But it aint all me,my wife does alot of the gardening away from the pond and she gives me good ideas.

Oh my goodness. That pond is simply amazing. I can not believe what one season has done for all those plants. Very, very nice and a great job for sure.

Your post made me look to last years pics I took shortly after I had it finished and planted with the plants that are in it now.

Of course, the perrenial clock. Is that a full sunlight clock or does it need partial shade?

If it were July or even Aug the clock would be higher on the fence. In march fence clocks all over the world [rare they may be] start there annual journey across the picturesque spans of galvanized artistry that is sometimes refereed to as chain link.

Yeah,,,,,,,,,,kinda,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,in a hunched over permanently in pain kinda way:scry: Funny thing about all that rock,I actually bought it and had it delivered. They brought it over in a pick up truck with his wife and kid.I helped unload it ,then over a period of 2 wks I slowly placed them where I wanted them.I know, kinda lame to buy rock, but believe it or not, good rocks are hard to come by around here.We mostly have sand or limestone which is smaller and very soft.

It still turned out great even if you had to buy the rocks!:hmm3grin2orange:
Its too bad you are so far South of me.You would freak if I showed you all the free stuff up here.Granite ,quartz(blue, white or pink) .slate...just sitting in the bush saying "Take me!" lol
Reguardless I am real jealous of your pond.Looks like a great place to sit and chill!

Yes they do stay out there year round.Even this past winter with all that gawd awful snow and cold we had.Keep an air exchange hole in the ice with water movement from a pump, stop feeding at 45 deg [water temp] and dont feed again till you get the first full week of above 45 deg [water temp].
NG: There are a billion rocks in our parks and public lands but we arent allowed to remove anything from them,,,,,,,,,,,,,unless we shot it while hunting. No rock hunting season though.
