...don't have the tank quite yet...next Tuesday I think!

Not sure about the filter...I've had a canister...and I really didn't like it...

...and of the AC and the Emperors I have now...I much prefer my AC...

Think I could get away with just one AC110 if I'm not heavily stocked?

The problem with longer tanks, is if you just have one filter, one side of the tank becomes dead. I would use 2, one for each side, or a cannister with the intake on oneside, and the exhaust on the other.

yep, get a canister with intake on one side, output on the other, and possibly 2 powerheads.

I've got an AC 110 on my 72 Gallon Bowfront and I've been very happy with it.

Rue.......I want you to know I will be hopping jealous if you get that tank before I can get mine! I have been trying to get a 75 for weeks!!!! Either I haven't the money or afraid it won't fit in my car so don't go pick one up. I bet to date I have gone out with a measuring tape 18 times and measured my back seat. LOL Now........it gets right to the wire and my plan was to go tomorrow and see if I can get one and I get a call this morning to "babysit" for my ex-husbands wife tomorrow. grrrrrrrrrr (Poor woman can't walk and he has to do something) so .............I wait some more!

Yours will probably be cycled before I can get mine!

Thanks Ed! I'm so excited! *bouncybouncybouncy*

Hobbs...don't be jealous...it'll be a while before I have any fish in it...and I might have to actually paint the wall first...so we'll see how that all works out...but I'm getting it to take advantage of a coupon I have...so I can get it on sale...

Do you mind babysitting your ex's wife? LOL...sounds awkward...

Okay...will look more into canisters...but I really don't want one...

Fluval, Rena, Magnum...oh boy!

...well now...I don't think I'll be getting Fluval...I've read too much about their issues...others are supposed to be better for the money...

...but which other??? LOL...

...I'm glad you like her! Always nice when 'extended families' get along! Hopefully you'll get your tank delivered as a bonus! thumbs2:

Try a rena xp3 or rena xp4. From what i understand, they are wonderful cannys.

I love my Eheims. Never had a problem with any of them. I also agree that, if you go with HOBs, go with two of them. I tried one AC 70 on my 40 gallon long and had one side that was totally devoid of water current. Added a second and all is well. I really think though with a tank that size that a cannister is a far better option. I can't imagine you not liking the Eheims. Dead quiet, zero maintenance if you add a sponge prefilter.
