I just purchased a 150 gal. tank that was used for saltwater. A few questions:

What can I use to safely scrub off the crusty brine, etc... from the glass ?

It came with a Bioball filter that is supposed to be used for up to 250 gallon tank. Can I use it for freshwater now ? If so, how do I convert it ? How can you tell if the bioballs need replacing, or cleaning if possible ?

Is it safe to use coral and other saltwater rocks in a freshwater tank ?

Can you use food designed for saltwater fish, for freshwater fish ?

Warm water and a sponge works well if its acrylic or glass. If its glass, you can also use a razor blade. Dont use it on an acrylic tank though, it will scratch.

and rinse the media. Ive used saltwater sponges and all that for FW too. SW rocks cant be used as they buffer PH

Most likely no for the food, unless it is New Life Spectrum. For the rocks it depends on what fish you are wanting.
