That depends on which cichlids you want to mix them with. A channel cat will outgrow just about any tank sooner or later in any case.

Pleco's get pretty big, what size tank do you have?

Will this fit your tank and be able to swim?

I just noticed are you sure you meant a channel cat? I noticed you have a 35 gallon tank prob too small for everything unless you mean shell dwelling cichlids.

For this thread to be of much use, you really need to provide a lot more information, including tank size, cichlid species and pleco species. But as they've all said... channel cats get huge.

In a 35 gallon tank you could do a pair or so of mild mannered smaller cichlid species, such as bolivian rams, or cockatoo apistos. There are some different species of apistos but you can only get them if your water is softer since they are more fragile. There are also some smaller plecos, such as clown, bristlenose, and bulldog/rubberlip pleco.
Blue channel catfish can get over 4 ft long and should really only be kept in large ponds or in state zoos/aquariums.
