I am using just a desk light on my 10 gallon with a 60 watt plant bulb but the light is only directed to one area. I'd like to get a light like this but too stupid to know what kind of fixture to put it in. I'm guessing I could use it on one of those clamp-on type trouble lights?

That's what I would get for it. You could probably get one from the reptile section of your pet store as well.

OK Thanks. Altho not water safe, it can't be any more tricky that trying to keep this desk light from falling in the water.

also, just a safety heads up, if you dont already have one, get a GFCI plug for the light. Id just go to home depot or lowes and get a cheap clamp light for a few bucks. pet stores sell you something fancy with the same internals, and those ceramic sockets arent all that great over time.

Glad it's cheap because I'm reluctant to put one nickle into a 10 gallon tank. I was thinking of a few guppies but it appears a few turns into hundreds so maybe just some shrimp.

Thats why i kept gups, sold off the ones that made it to adulthood, angel fry learned to stalk and hunt the guppy fry. I keep a pair in my dwarf cichlid tank for once a month live treats.
Id say one of these two

Which ever dome type fixture you go with LH make sure the fixture is rated for the size bulb you get. IE 50-75 watt bulb for fixture rated up to 75 watts etc.

That'll work and about what I was thinking. Thanks for the tips.
