Been a very busy couple of weeks fishwise. Recently bought a new Fluval Roma 240 ltr tank and a red tailed black shark, which we've named window licker, or lick for short. Named this as she seems to spend most of her time trying to eat algae off the glass, despite the fact it's a new tank.

Has the tank already been cycled?

Also, although I like the tank, it seems a shame to use an internal filter on such a nice tank. Why not a canister filter or an HOB?

Just a temporary measure. The internal filter is from my previous tank.

Edit: I figure reusing the old equipment, water, and substrate should stop it from cycling, however I'm doing daily water changes and ammonia checks. Will continue to do so for another 2 weeks, but all good so far. It also has an external filter, however this hasnt been fully cycled, I helped it along by first adding two fish without the internal filter for a week.

Two of the plants don't seem to be all that healthly, one of them being on the far left.

The other unhealthly plant is the one on the left here, though the one on the right is doing fine. Not that surpising given its made from plastic!

The cave in this photo is from the previous tank, and despite being made from plastic is now covered life, which the guppies and red tailed black shark seem to enjoy munching.

External filter which is connected to the underside of the tank. Im so scared im going to come home one day to find the tank has emptied itself. The buckets have been placed in that postion in case it ever leaks!
