What Should the P.H Levels be in the tank?

It depends on your species. different species prefers very different pH levels.

Around pH 7 should work in your tank (allthough I don't know the Barra prefernce)

well the barra seems fine apart from his occastional heavy breathing after a feed, younger oscars breathe quicker the older ones dont they?

I don't know. But the pH will not ba a roblem for your oscars.

I have a 100 gallon with an Eheim professional filter. I set it up, did the biozyme, and waited. After a week, the water became clear, so I tested the water and found the ph too be pretty high-almost 8! I went and got some fizzies that are supposed to drop it to 7. Did that and waited. Again, the water was clear and all the levels were good. So I went and got 20 zebra danios and 4 swordtails. Put them in, and by that night, my water was all cloudy again!! Now it is 2 days later and the water is a little more clear, but still cloudy; the fish don't seem to mind, but I don't understand what happened. Do I just need to wait it out, or is something going wrong? Oh yeah, my son has a 10 gallon with an undergravel filter, so I put the same water and some of my gravel in his tank and waited a day, and then gave him 4 of my danios. His tank is clear and the fish are fine....so why isn't mine clear when it's the same water, gravel, and fish?!

Sounds like the tank hasn't cycled yet.

so then why was the water clear and the levels right before the fish? I am very confused...

Because the tank ahd started to build a bacteria population that made the water clear but it isn't large enough to support the stress of all the fish you added. It's better to just add a few fish first and than wait a little more before getting more fish.

20 zebra danios and 4 swordtails are not much fish in a 100 gallon but it might be to much to add right now.

The water should be clearer as the week (perhaps 2) passes. Make sure you don't overfeed during this period.
