Not planaria...unless it's some bizarre species...I'll try searching...

Not hydra...I know my hydra...

...Mr. Plakat II ate one...

They're very small, very white and I didn't see them before now...so I'm assuming they just 'hatched'...they're too small to see details...so I can't pick out any other identifying features...

I added Mr. Plakat II to the tank about 3 hours ago...but if they came from him, you'd think I'd have seen them in his shipping container...the only other things they might have come from are the snails...but I don't think so...

...the java fern? But there's none in the other tank...

...or the malaysian driftwood...but it's been soaking for 3 weeks...

The mystery continues...

...well, if it's not planaria...I don't know what they are...

I'll keep looking...

...I hope Mr. Plakat II eats them all...

Better give that gravel a good vacuuming. More goodies for the freezer? LOL

Vacuumed yesterday! Did a 50% WC to get it ready for Mr. Plakat II!

I suppose I could water the Mortuary Tree with the tank water...

...I've gone cross-eyed trying to see the damn things clearly enough to pick out identifying characteristics...I KNEW I should've gotten a dissecting scope all those years ago...

...but I did find this:

d) Natural predators may help. Apple Snails, Hong Kong Plecs. (coldwater), Whiptail Catfish, and any Limnivorous Catfish (Mud-eaters, e.g. Twig Catfish and Bubble-nesting Catfish, who are constantly searching throughout the tank for vegetable matter, detritus, micro-organisms and tiny crustaceans), are among the species that will (usually if left unfed for a few days) eat away at Planaria on a long term basis. In the short term Betta and Pelvicachromis (Kribs.) species will eat small amounts of Planaria.

...hopefully Mr. Plakat II and the Six-Pack will fix things for me...
