hello all i have a 40 gal breeder tank that iam cycleing ive got a canister filter on it but was gonna add a bio wheel hob was wonder if its gonna fit between the glass hood that two are two and a half in plastic strip that goes along the back by the way its an all glass aquarium hood thanx for the info

You need to measure to make sure it will fit. I have a 65G acrylic tank which has thick supports along the top edge so many of the smaller HOB's would not sit over it but the Penguin Bio-Wheel 200 did fit with no problem.

If you don't have a lot of room to work with, you can buy the biowheel separatly and connect it to the outflow of your canister filter. It costs less and it's just as effective if you already have enough filtration.

You could buy one of the glass tops for it. There's a plastic strip you cut yourself for the size you need. But a regular hood has two cut-outs to hold filters and plenty of room. The only filter I found that doesn't fit that opening well is the Emperor 400. It's just a tad larger than most filters.
