Well, when I got it, I thought I had it all set up and the packaging is probably down at the dump now... Anyway, I can't seem to get the temperature to stabilize :( I've been looking for directions online but I can't seem to find anything. It's a hang-on heater with a dial that you twist to turn the temperature up and down... Turning it in one direction makes the orange light turn on, and the other direction turns it off. I'm assuming light turned on = heat being released. Anyway, if I put it right between the light switch on/off it flickers every so often. I thought this'd keep the temperature stable but it doesn't. D: Help?
This is my heater, can't seem to find any directions though.

If you turn the dial, you will see the red line inside the tube moving up and down to the desired setting. A heater turning on and off only means it's working. It's shutting itself off to the degree you have it set for.

Not to be difficult, but... What red line? :22:
And now I see why they say not to take the heater out of the water! I took it out, still hot, examined it, and after about 10-20 seconds put it back in and heard a scorching sound... After closely examining it now there's a brown/black burn mark on the inside of the glass. :( I've learned my lesson now though! At least it still works.

Isn't there a red slider thing inside the heater that you can see from outside? When you turn the dial on top, that slider moves up and down to a temp setting? It looks just like a heater I used to have and the temp settings are on the side, not on the top.
Look at your link. Looks like a red line there to me. If not, forget my rambling. Perhaps I am losing my mind. LOL

I see what you're talking about, that's actually a copper strip inside of the heater, I guess it's the lighting in the picture making it look red :(
