plan on getting neon, cardinal, rummy nose and black neon tetra's just curious if they will all swim as 1 group or will only swim with there own kind

They will swim together but not as a school.Just as fish going the same way!lol
Most species of fish will only school with their own kind.

You're better off to stick with only 2 or 3 schools but make the schools large. Makes for a nicer tank and more serene tetra's. A school may be considered as only 6 but it's a very mininual school. Schools of 15-20 are awesome.
However, this all depends on your tank size. I read in an earlier post you had not yet cycled your tank so you don't want to start with very many.

If there are larger fish, they tend to school and they generally wont school with other species.
If there arent any larger fish or other threats in the tank you will most likely see more of a loose congregation of all the tetras, like a bowl of mixed nuts.
Most species of tetra require 6+ to feel secure.
