Happened to turn to the tank and saw all the shrimp out in the open ... decided to take a few quick shots. Aren't the best in clarity, I apologize. Just thought it was neat to see all the shrimp out en masse ...

And here's Gus trying to horn in on the action ... he honestly doesn't care about the shrimp at all) Sometimes I think he thinks the camera is food.

It's really fascinating to watch them graze about the tank. I don't know what kind of social structure they have, but it almost seems like they do have the rudiments of one.

Yup, they are. This was one of those rare times they weren't hamming it up in full view.

He could care less about them.

The fish know they are there, know they exist, but don't consider them any sort of food or competition, as far as I can tell. Now, I do know I've had berried shrimp, and later no berried shrimp ... so I'm sure there have been births. But none that grow up past shrimplet stage. So I'm guessing the fish figure shrimplets are fine eating, but don't want to bother with the adults.
