It seems to be a smaller operation than the megastores, but they seem to consistently have good sale prices.

www.fish.com

When I had a problem with an order (the connection crashed just as I hit the send button), I sent them an email and got a fast personal response.

They also let me know I had won a $50 gift certificate during a weekly drawing, which I wasn't even aware they had. So that was a nice bonus.

This is definitely the cheapest site out there hands down. They have all the same name brand products as any other site would too. I don't order from anyone else except this site.

I'll be honest, I've looked at a lot of online sites. Once you add on shipping and handling they aren't, by and large, any cheaper than my lfs. The only time I end up using them is to get something not carried locally.

I totally agree on that one.

The only way you get stuff cheaper from those is if you by a large quantity of items. Is Big Al's only in Canada?

I totally agree on that one.

I'm responding to a past post but I wanted to tell you the difference between online and in store shopping prices.

PetSmart API test kits = 28.95 Nearly all online stores = 17.98
Python water changer (Walmarts) $32 Online $25
Dechlorinators in stores=8 oz around $8 Online quart bottles for $12-15

It doesn't take long at all to get to $50 so just wait until it's free shipping after that amount. I just like to compare shopping prices and products and in the stores, you're at the mercy of what they carry and how much they want to charge.

I have bought stuff from DrsFosterSmith.com I dont buy it online though they have many ways to buy things you can buy online but I use checks and money orders so i dont ever buy online. They have a catalog you can order to be sent to your house....I like that better. As stated before I am impatient and like you I like to go to the local stores to get what I need and Only if I Can't find something will I mail order it.

tampabaysaltwater.com - all my live rock/sand comes from here.
aquaticeco.com - 90 percent of my equipment. Well over 10,000 items.
floridadriftwood.com - 2/3rds of my driftwood.
fish2u.com - about half of my fish.
pacificeastaquaculture.com - nearly all of my corals.

Living in a LFS desert like I do, it's online or a six hour drive.

good seller and this protein skimmer is especially good. and he has a good price (paid 55$ for mine). i have it on my 33g salt and its amazing. it doubles as a filter since the output has floss and carbon, and it's a HOB design so it makes the tank look more "clean" than a submersible skimmer
