About a month ago we acquired a trio of Pearl Gouramis (i.e. one male and two females) and they have settled in nicely. Recently my wife and I started to notice that the females are rounding out a bit and we think we might be seeing some breeding behavior in the coming days/weeks. So far their is no bubble nest, but the male has been checking out the top of the tank (where the water sprite is) quite a bit more.

Do we let them breed in the main tank or do we try and get a separate breeding tank established for them? The odds of many of the fry surviving in the main tank seems low (see sig for inhabitants), but at the same time we want to minimize the stress on the fish.

Thanks

Hm, for some reason I read this as Preparation for Popcorn.

Congratulations though. It seems you have developed crackatinny's habit of putting up provocative thread titles :)

I think that my problems have been answered. I think I know where I might put these little guys.

A guy on craigslist was selling a eheim 2213, UV steralizer, and a 20 gallon tank with all of the fixings. Well here is the post.

I finally sold all of my fishes and have equipments left to sell.

Eheim 2213 Canister Filter - $15
Penguin Biowheel Power filter / media - $6
100w heater - $2
Double-Sponge Filter with air pump - $2
3 Color UV Sterilizer light - $4
24inch Twin-Tube fluorescent lights(18,000k/10,000k) with glass hood
+ 2 extra flscnt lights - $15
20 gallon fish tank - $1

fish nets, gravel cleaner, algae removing brush, easy grabber,NO3/PH tester, automatic feeder,,etc...for free if you buy those above. combine price is $45 but if you buy everything I'll give you with better price.(still negotiable)
all the equipments are used less than 5 months and work perfect.
I'm leaving the town on Saturday(26th), thus, they need to be sold before then, either tonight / thursday / Friday.

Hopefully I get it, as the Eheim and uv sterilizer are worth that alone. We shall see, but I may have a fry/breeding tank in the next 48 hours.
