Well, so far so good with my first tank in years. Here are 3 pics for ya.

Pre-cycle (testing and messing around with water, etc):

During Cycle with everything added and waiting patiently:

And finally post cycle with 6 Zebras:

Bare with me on the blurring, still getting use to this different camera I am using. Once I get use to it, and the fish slow down a little, I'll take more pics of the fish.

I'm gonna keep the zebras in there for 2-3 weeks before I add the Rosey Barbs, then I think I will stay at that until I get a larger tank later on.

Looks cool. Is that one of the cube aquariums?

Nice looking tank! thumbs up!

Don't worry about the zebra danios being fuzzy in the pic. Trying to take a clear shot of them is like trying to nail jelly to the cieling.

Yep Yep, Aquapod 24 gallon. Made for Marine, but I'm using it for freshwater instead. Couldn't live without the castle.

...although I LUV real castles...I'm not a fan of tank ornaments...

...what's the attraction? Inquiring minds want to know...;)

sorry to change the subject but have you got high ammonia in the tank?
becuase in pic 3 I can see alot of unpoped bubbles at the surface from the airstone, this usally means high ammonia or nitrites

I guess it would be a bit of a selfish reason. It's more like having an underwater world to your own taste and preference, and then dropping fish into it to bring it to life.

This is similiar to the questions like: Why do people put lights under thier cars? or Why do people have clear sides on their computers and light the inside?

Each person has their own reasons for what they do, but it all comes down to what they like to see/have. Aesthetics.

I LOVE the castle! Very cool looking tank!

What's the plan besides the danios?

I think it's lovely. One large centerpiece and the rest left uncluttered. Looks pretty awesome, I think. It would look cool full of small fish and they would not get caught anywhere in the castle.

Thanks guys. =) I spent a lot of time making the castle fish-safe. It's like making a house childproof, you have to figure out where they could get stuck or hurt themselves lol. I actually have pics of what I did, I'll post them tonight here maybe if I have time from work.

I'm thinking I'll throw in 3-4 Rosey Barbs after I have the tank estabolished for another month. The tank is 24 gallons, so I might stay at that level and see how the filtration system works with the fresh water. I searched all over the internet but haven't found anyone else to use this product for fresh water, so I'm being really cautious. =)

The castle has thus been named, Castle Landwalk.

Here is some massive gluage:

Attention to even the smallest fish killing spots.

And of course....over-gluage :ezpi_wink1:

Also, on the end there was a big hole, which I covered with a blue plastic grate like I used on the inside, but it blended well with the rock since it is behind where you look at the castle from. I also set the castle far enough aaway from things so that fish couldn't get stuck.

Took 3 hours to glue all that inplace as I was not waiting for each window to dry move than 5-10min before I moved to the next. It got really sticky in there lol.

Anyways, had to share it. :11:

Thanks for reading (and looking)

Cool, it just looks like it has a natural grate on the window. Nice work!

Very good work! I am digging the castle big time! I really really like your tank. It is very fun. What you did with the castle shows how much you care about your fish and the look is awesome! Great job!

Great work on that - I wind up covering half the house and at least 1 of my cats with glue whenever I try to put anything together!
