Hello , I was given this pond for free. Last year I got it in the ground and did the rock work. I had to anxiously wait all winter to get going on it again. In the early spring I built the DIY filter system, ordered a pump and then, again.....waited. Well it's up and running now and I still have lots to do but it's looking real nice.

Yeah, we live on 40 acres on the side of a mountain. The views are beautiful but the elevation creates cool night temperatures. We can go from 40 degrees Celcius (104 F) daytime to 8 degrees night time (46 F) and then soar back up.....crazy! The temperature swings are the reason I can't put any Cichlids out there, even just for the summer.
I now have 5 baby Koi and 2 shubunkins. When the Koi out grow the pond they are going to my neighbors huge Spring fed pond. Must be nice to never have to do water changes!
