My golden ram is acting really weird. Hes in the planted 20g, and suddenly he is laying on plant leaves and burying in the java moss. No tattered fins, no parasites, no weight gain, no protruding eyes, no constipation, no fungal areas, no red fins or belly. What else could it be?

i had a gbr and he didn't have a lot of personality and ended up dieing for no apparent reason after a 1 hour power outage. he went all crazy when the power came back on and all of my other fish were perfectly fine. how long have you had it?

ive had him for about 2 weeks. The first one died for no reason, and this guy survived. Now, he just lays down upright. Maybe hes secretly eating a plant or something and is bloated. Thats all that comes to mind

i don't know maybe it's just the species. i did read somewhere that said rams seem to die for no apparent reason. i may try one more time but it'll be a while. i'm having plant issues now but at least all of my fish are good.

I havent had many fish die lately. the only ones lately were a cory for no reason and the clown knife that got beat up by the severum.

I dont know whats up with this guy. Guess i wont feed him for a few days and see him then

hes still being a retard. He is sitting on the gravel just laying there. Ammonia is 0, nitrate and nitrite are extremely low, and there are no tankmates that could be hurting him.

maybe he's depressed. get him a buddy and see if he perks up.

that may work. Before his buddy died, they wanted nothing with eachother though. if he doesnt perk up in a few days i'll get another one

sounds like you may have had a male and female then if they were matched up like that. you may need to try to find one close to the same size and age if possible.

well, i couldnt see him for about 12 hours, and surely enough i see a gold blob floating. He did go quickly. I took a tissue sample and looked at it fullblown on a microscope, no parasites or anything

I have one golden ram too and it does the same thing, i think its jsut the way they are. Mine does things a lil different so i dunno if this applies but he'll hover. he likes to hover over one spot. he doesnt stop moving really jsut stays there. I think its jsuta ram being a ram but i could be wrong

Tropfish, I kept doing the same thing when I became a member here. Just remember to check the date in the upper left corner. Made me feel like an idiot when I was replying to posts months old.

it's all because they are tank raised it's like some of the affects you get from not so good flowerhorn cichlids

the fish is not totally natural you should read up on breeding your own
