well, this weekend i was at the reptile show in raleigh and purchased a malaysian mangrove snake (Boiga Dendrophila) it is a beautiful specimen, with alot of yellow on the belly. seems like a fairly healthy W/C and looks hungry. i'll feed it in a few days, soon as i can catch a skink or buy a pinkie. i'll let you guys know how it is in a few days, but the way things look now, i think it will live. i say this because if you know snakes then you will know that mangroves come in full of parasites. wish me luck!

Awesome pickup. Hope it eats for you and all is well in terms of health. Any chance of a picture?

If you are so concerned about your snakes health, why would you want to feed it a wild-caught skink that could be harboring a parasite or pathogen?

True. Pre-killed or frozen/thawed store bought mice/rats are always the best way to go. I breed, kill, and freeze my own rats so I know my snake is getting 100% quality food with no chance of anything going wrong.

i quarantine all reptiles, and skinks used as food are always frozen prior to feeding.
