Well, I got rid of my 2000 Ford Mustang GT last year, so I've been without a car since, but I did order a 2007 VW City Golf (which is a Golf 4 still being sold in Canada but starting at about $15,000 CAD and is $5000 cheaper then the new Golf 5 which is been renamed the Rabbit here) in February and is being built as I type this, it should be here towards the end of summer. It's got all the usual stuff in it, 2.0L engine, 5 speed manual transmission, power windows/doors/mirrors, air conditioning, cruise control, heated seats/mirrors, all for only $18 000 CAD ... thumbs2:

But, since I'm a Pony boy, my absolute dream car(s) are a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 and a 2004 Ford Mustang Mach 1. I'll hopefully be getting the Mach 1 for a weekend car in about 2-3 years once the prices come down.

What I want is an SUV gas guzzler. LOL Something I can actually fit a darned fish tank in! Need 4 wheel drive where I live in the winters, too.

I have a 2000 ford falcon, a 1987 ford ute, my favaroute is my 1964 Eh Holden.

I would love a 1968 SS Camaro, a mid 50's ford pickup stepside, a 1957 Chevy sports tudor, among other vintage cars.

If you're referring to the Opel, no they're not. Opel is owned by GM and is sold under the Vauxhall name in the UK and the Chevrerolet name in South America and Asia. Pontiac has sold the Kadett under the LeMans name back in the early nineties and Cadillac has sold the Omega under the Catera name in the mid nineties. Neither did too well, but Opel is going to try again by selling the Astra (a bit bigger than the Corsa) under GM's Saturn name in North America next year.

oh so complicated

BTW, having all of these cars and huge sums of cash isn't the best thing in the world. to tell you the truth, I would rather have a father who earn't a decent salary and stayed in the country most of the year, three cars (one for me, dad and mum) and a mother who didn't look like a 'gold-digger'. Also, the expectations of my g/f and my friends are huge.

Most of my relatives are in the same boat as you, I have an uncle who has his own jet and helicopter, I have another aunt who lives in an actual castle and has her yacht tied up in Monaco. But, their busy lifestyles means they don't spend much time with family.

Uhhhh the Astra is a lot bigger than the Corsa....just for the record.

In my family there used to be following Opels: Opel Record 3, Opel Ascona 1, Opel Omega 1, Opel Vectra 1, Opel Kadett 1, Opel Astra 1 (cars of my Dad) and 2 Mercedes (forget about them)

I used to have an Opel C-Kadett, a D-Kadett, 2 E-Kadetts and now the Corsa

Yes I am an offspring of an Opel-gaga family:hmm3grin2orange:

And you live in Brühl? With all those Opels, sounds like you should be living in Bochum ... lol ... :ezpi_wink1:

The Astra is slightly bigger then the Corsa, from a North American point of view.... :ezpi_wink1:

Opel is also related to GMH Australia, do a google picture search on holden barina, this is the smaller model to the astra.

In the 70's holden torana and opel went hand in hand, 4 cylinder toranas of that day even had the opel 4spd gearbox.

yeah. we also have a jet which we ***occassionaly*** use to get to aussie or the pacific islands, or domestically in nz. I mean, my dad spends about 3 months a year based in Dubai where we have a property on Palm Island One. In total, he is probably in Auckland for about 8 - 12 weeks are year. One day he's here, the next day I can wake up and he has just arrived in LA, or aussie, or Hong Kong and I won't see him for another 6 months. I also have a mum who doesn't work and lives off dad's income and some have branded her a "gold-digger" but they just don't understand the situation.

When I stayed at his place some years ago, I drove his second car he calls Baby, man a car with a 4.3 litres engine he calld SMALL:hmm3grin2orange:
I loved to drive "Baby" I felt like a "Queen of the road" :hmm3grin2orange:

Pontiac also recently sold the Holden Monaro in the US as the Pontiac GTO, it also didn't do too well here. But that's because Pontiac really messed up on the re-styling of it.

That's the thing alot of people don't understand, people like your dad or my uncle or aunt have to work their asses off for what they have and they sacrafice alot along the way.

I'll go with you on the Mustang, but since you're an Opel girl and I'm a VW boy, we are mortal enemies by law, so this is where I must leave this conversation ..... :ezpi_wink1:

Just kidding, it's 3:30 in the morning, so I guess I should be shutting my notebook down and try to get some sleep.

I have a 2002 Corolla with 60K miles that's paid off. I get great gas mileage. But it's still $40 (O*@#$@ dollars to fill up. O.O

I don't have a desire for another car because I don't have a desire for any car payments.

Hate to be biased, but the week my husband's Ford was paid off... it literally fell apart. It's sitting on the grass because it's too much to fix up so we can sell it.

Mine's been paid off for some time now and running great.

I actually have my dream car already....
Over here in New Zealand Opels are also knows as Holdens. theres the Vectra anyway.

My car I drive is infact a Nissan. a 1991 Silvia S13 (240SX for your guys)
I dont know why you are annoyed at $40 to fill up... mine last time I filled it was $91 or so.

My car is lowered on D2 adjustables. has a lightened flywheel and heavy duty cluch. it also has a 2.5" pipe through to 4" muffler tip. About $2000 worth of sound system. Custom mounted volt guage and a drift style handbrake.

Here is a pic I just found of my 2 Kadetts I really loved. With those 2 cars I had really great holidays in France, I even slept in those cars, and especially the yellow one really had a personality...and I killed a wild pig with it (no joke).

i got a 91 toyota cressida that takes me to work and anywhere else i need to go, at 22 mpg.

I would like to have a truck, like a mid-90's ford, could get one if i looked, but am not willing to pay the gas, especially if its going up to $4 per gallon here. not practical. not really into cars all that much i guess.

it doesnt really have the wheels in the picture on it. I found the pic while browsing an auction site called trade me. It was an auction for the wheels but that is my car. I bought the car from the guy selling the wheels :-)

And here are my two babies. Boschmann 10" sub woofers. The amp is behind the sub box.

Hah I found "Da Pic"

Me and "Baby" back in July 2003. I was on holidays in the Seattle Area, and that car I was allowed to ride, and I just had to pay for the gas (which was much cheaper then, especialy for one from Germany)
