I decided to play with my paint program today and this is what I ended up doing. I may start doing this with fish photos and start ordering prints, it turned out pretty cool:19:

You can get the same effect easier in photoshop.
Really cool looking though! Id frame it.

Yeah, whenever I get the extra money to spend I want to purchase Adobe Photoshop Elements so I can have a few more options like that. I'm thinking of ordering of of the kodak site and having it printed on a canvas and see how that turns out. I'm working on a turtle pic I took at Myrtle Beach now....as for where I get the eye for it, incredulous ed, my mom (she was an art major in college when I was little and she showed me tons of techniques...she's awesome!). Thanks for all the comments guys...the feedback has helped me decide that I might start a shop for my designs on cafepress:thumb:

Ever tried real painting on canvas?? Or airbrush?
I am searching for a good airbrusher, cause I would like to have a nice pic of my 2 fave fish...
Nice pic, would like to know how that technique would look on my Meeki.

Tell you guys what, since this is the forum that got me started taking fishy pics in the first place....if any of you would like me to try to do this of your fish, just sent me an attachment on my PM, I'll work on it and then send it back to you. This can be my practice:22: You guys are a lot of fun and really great!

I have thought about painting on the canvas myself, except I don't really deal in anything but pastels and watercolor. For the color effect I'd need to use acrylics and for the best, oils. So I thought about it and my bf likes oil painting, I may see if he'd like to try a hand at my work in oils and it'd be a combined effort. I've never airbrushed before though, is it a good medium? Thanks for the feedback.

I found a picture of a neat fish, and i tried to do the whole thing like you did. Ended up being too much detail for me to handle, so i just did the fish.

I think it's really cool looking. I love the bright colors. I think that's why I like this method so much.
