Finally got some decent pics of my new volitans lionfish, Pinhead II.
Please excuse the algae on the back glass. This is the only tank I have that has problems with algae....mainly I suppose because I tend to overfeed this tank and also because Bubba, the picasso trigger, will not allow much in the way of clean up crew.

Important Disclaimer: normally I advocate NOT mixing lionfish and triggers together. It is very common for the trigger to decide the lionfish is nothing more than a chew toy which the lion often fails to survive. I have had my picasso trigger (Bubba) for almost a year now and feel I can judge his personality. Although he is extremely invertebrate aggressive, towards fish he shows no aggression at all. Also, I am able to observe them during daylight hours and I have a divider sitting next to the tank in case of trouble. There is also an empty 40g if this doesn't work out.

Now, on to the pics!
The first pic, the gang has to be in there too! Then it's swimming off to hide upsidedown in the cave!

BEAUTIFUL tang! I want a tang, but apparently theyre hard to keep and slowly die if you dot have 100% pristine conditions

If you had at least a 55g I'd say go for it!! There are some tangs that are delicate like the powder blue and even the hippo (aka dory) but yellow tangs are as hardy as they come! I've had mine for almost 7 years now and she survived two hurricanes! During the last time was the closest I ever came to losing her. She was literally dying in my hands when I got her over to my Dad's house where they had finally restored power and water.
And I have to say that the water in this tank is not pristine in any sense of the word!! :wink2:

Today I had the chance to get much better pics of Pinhead. The first pic shows the homemade divider in the tank. And it's not because of any aggression from the trigger, it's because I need to train the lionfish onto dead foods and that's hard with a greedy little trigger in there too! :ezpi_wink1:
The training is progressing nicely so I figure in about 10 days I should have Pinhead weaned over to other foods and I can take the divider down.
