Remember that hex tank i saw at a garage sale i passed up? i bought it today. I went back to look at other stuff, and they recognized me because i looked at it yesterday. I offered 40$, and they said okay, so now i have a 25g???? ( i'll calculate later ) with a stand, gravel, hood, and light. Im probably gonna plant it with cardinal tetras

If you wanted to make it salt you wouldn't have to buy different lighting unless you wanted corals. You could always have critters like shrimp, crabs, snails, featherdusters, starfish, brittlestars and there are even corals that don't require special lighting like sun corals or gorgonians....or you could do a species tank and keep an octopus in there! :wink2:

lol, forgot the funny part. The people who were selling the tank had a 6 year old kid, and when i took the tank to my car the kid followed me and gave me a pretty pi$$y look. wonder if it was his tank?

Idea #1:

Big tall driftwood in the middle
Long plants, corkscrew val, wisteria, brazilian penny wort, and the like in the back
java moss tied to the drift wood.
riccia tied to some rocks in the front

10x cardinals
4x albino corys
2x gouramis


Idea #2:
PVC style cichlid condo towering up the middle
Rockstacks all around the bottom

Assorted cichlids

Im going with idea 1. I dont really need puffers, ive got a 29g african tank, and i dont have a community tank besides the 20g.

One of my lfs's is having a godzilla sale tomorrow so im gonna go and get a bunch of fish, add them to one of my already cycled tanks, then add them when the hex is cycled. Shouldnt take long since im using a seeded filter

The only puffers i can really find here are dwarfs. I might be able to get a different kind at the big als across the city, but i dont want to drive there, especially with gas $1.24/litre right now. That brown puffer that kimmers has is awesome though.
