I posted earlier about my clowns, and now I'm concerned about the Yoyo loaches. The clowns seems to be doing better, thankfully.

The Yoyo's have always been more difficult to figure out healthwise for me. They "gray out" often because they are resting, or just unhappy. Mine have been seen flashing, but I see no white spots. I don't think it's Ich, because I'm sure I'd be seeing spots. Do you think it could be flukes or something else? Their breathing is somewhat rapid, but other than that and flashing they look normal. One was showing loss of color this evening, but the other 2 are nice black/white contrasting colors.

The Nitrites and Amonia are 0, PH is 7.6 (normal for my water), Nitrates are under 10.

Any help would be appreciated.

Update - I started coppersafe last night. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I don't think I'd be using coopersafe in that tank. Some medications burn the skin of loaches and will kill them. If you do not see any Ick, there's a chance they just like to scratch themselves. I know my clown loaches did that.

Flashing doesnt mean anything really, ALL fish flash be it an itch or just to flash and show off. Ive had the same guppy flashing for over a year now, all it does is get me more babies.

Why coppersafe?

HEAT alone will nuke ICH if thats what you think you have.

If you added a full dose of coppersafe, I'd be replacing some of the water. Scaleless fish should only get half doses of any medications and you must remove charcoal if using it in your tank. And replacing the charcoal to remove it.

Medications and heat treatments also deplete the oxygen in your tank so you should use an airstone if you think you need one and not use medications and the heat method both due to this oxygen level being depeleted. If you do, for sure add an airstone.

If you do see Ick, vac the gravel daily to help get new hatchings out of the tank as soon as possible as continue treatment for another week once you no longer see Ick on the fish.

I removed the coppersafe by adding carbon the very next day because I saw rapid gill movement. More so than before. I did another water change and gthen yesterday noticed that my clowns have patchy coloration on the black pigmentation at the tail end of their bodies. The patch was only on one side this morning, but now today it's on both sides, but still only on the tail section of their body (not the fin). I don't know what this could be. The tail, in the black section, looks marblized.

Suggestions?

I have a yoyo that flashes all the time. At first I was worried, but nothing became of it. I think it was just a simple itch. I would do gradual water changes till the coppersafe is removed, thats a case of the cure being worse than the sickness.
