I do not have very much experience with aquariums. I have a 10 gallon that I got a few years ago and the fancy goldfish I used to have died about a month ago and now it has just been sitting there so I decided to put a small sunfish in it but when I went fishing I also caught a small largemouth bass and decided to keep him too. This is an estimate, but I believe them to be 4-5" long. They've been in there for about 20 minutes and seem to be doing fine. I have a 10 gallon whisper filter, a bubble strip, and a little bit of artificial plants. I never checked the PH levels of the aquarium nor the pond where I caught the fish.

I just need tips and maybe links to good websites about this topic. Also I have a picture. Sorry for the bad quality (cell phone image).

sounds like you didnt cycle the tank. Test the ammonia and nitrate and nitrite levels and do extra water changes to keep the ammonia down.
Those are nice looking fish!

Well, as a fellow fisherman, i know that bass get very large. The sunfish can and will outgrow your ten gallon. I would say relese them, but since theve been in an aquarium, it is not good to release them back into the wild. You need to get a bigger tank for them, or find someone else with a bigger tank, because they will not be happy in a 10 gallon. I would say a 55 gallon for the perch, and a 75-100+ for the bass.
Welcome to the A.C.!

How do I test that stuff? Could I just buy a kit at Walmart? I really need to know what and how I should feed them. Do you think I can get them used to flake food? Also I just added a good picture of the bass.

I would feed corn for the perch, and some night crawlers for the bass. I would go with the flake food.
Nice little bass, but he is a fingerling, and wont stay small for long.

drumachine is right with the food. Test kits are found at most fish stores and some wal-marts.

Drummachine is right, you are going to need much larger tanks!!!
Be honest with yourself and decide if you can afford bigger tanks like Drummachine suggested. If you can't, then I would release the fish back to the same pond right now. (The only reason I'm suggesting release is because you haven't had them long at all and they are the only fish in the tank.) Wait too long and you will no longer be able to do this.
You have a small tank, and you need to have small fish. There are tons of fish that would do well in your tank, you just need to research them first! We can help you with this!! :thumb:
