Hey Everyone,

Its been awhile since I posted, so here I am. An I've been thinking..... When I first started getting into Salt Water Tanks, I got a used 29 Gallon tank an stand, two weeks later I found a killer deal on a fully set up 60 gallon, so I didn't touch the 29 gallon. Well its been sitting in my living room for a few months now half full of saltwater, dead coral and what once was live sand. I'm gettin an itch to turn it into something. Freshwater of course, two saltwater set ups is not financially smart. But I have the 10 gallon fresh that I've had going for a few months now and it's a breeze, water change weekly an it takes care of itself. But this 29 gallon I think needs SOMETHING. I was thinking maybe an Oscar tank for smaller Oscars an raise them an sell back to my LFS, or a Terranium (which I know very little about). Any ideas???

why not go with puffers, dwarf cichlids, or a community tank? Or heavily plant it with 40 neons

Most LFS will pay YOU to take adult oscars off their hands. They most likely wont buy them back. Maybe the zoo, but i dont know. I would do some neons, corys gouramis, and a rubber nosed pleco or something.

ditto with the corys and neons. Just get those in a planted tank. Most lfs's dont want oscars fullgrown since they take crap care of them and theyll just die from HITH in the condition theyre in

Do you have a pair of Oscars in a large tank now that will be spawning? A pair would need a very large tank and I don't see that mentioned in your post.

I posted the same thing as you did......suggestions for a 29 gallon.....and had about decided on a Ram tank.

But.......I will probably keep it for some rasbora's and gourami's because more than likely I will need that tank to move some angels into before long.

Ill vote for the ram idea. Make them the focus of the tank, and throw in some tetras, corys and an algae eater.

I have one Bolivian Ram, and I wish my tank would fit more! They are great fish.

Planted tank, it's what all the cool kids are doing nowadays.

Shaping up. I just tied the new moss to rocks and I want it to grow out a bit before taking a shot. Not really that quick, it's been a few weeks, lol.

I didn't have to think too long of what to do with that 29 gallon. I moved all my tetra's into it today along with the rasbora's and had to move my silver dollars back in the 55 gallon. They hated that small tank and was slamming into the glass. Looks like the rams will go on a waiting list for now.

29 is a perfect size for smaller community fish.
