So I'll be moving out soon which means moving the aquarium so I have a few questions for the fish gurus...
How long can the bacteria last in my canister without it circulating.?
Do you think I can temporarily house my 20 small fish in my 12g till I can get the big one set back up and for how long before a nitro or ammoniaspike would occur?
Anything else you guys can think of suggesting....

hello i believe your bacteria is fine for up to 24 hours before it starts dying . just make sure the water temp dosent change rapidly . If possible it should be one of the first things set up in your new place and last moved out .
as for the fish in the 12 gallon i think 10 each should be fine for a couple of hours .
i would still monitor your parameters even if the bacteria lives just to be sure
good luck thumbs2:

So just an update finally finished the move managed to get everything done in one day and rearrange the tank. All the inhabitants seem happy and have there good colors so I don't think I rushed them. Only one little hickup though my Thomasi jumped out of the transportation bucket while they were acclimating he seems to be doing alright now though. Here are some pics of the tank before and after the move as well as some of the little guys.
