Yes they are known as rainbow snakeheads but these ones only grow to 8 inchs max if that and not as aggressive as some of the other snakeheads.

I think the first one might be a Channa Gachua... Or are the 3 pics the same fish...??? Great fish!! Hopefully urs spawn!!

Very nice! I have always liked snakeheads!

The closest thing we can get in the US are Bowfins...which are still awesome!

Iv heard ur able to get a license in the US to keep around 2 snakeheads... However u have to report it when it does or they blame u for any outbreak.
Iv also heard they sell live snakeheads as food in some Asian markets in US... However they would be large variety.

I believe this is false. My fiances lfs used to have a pair of 30" Redlines and ODNR came in and destroyed them after many years of having them. This was within the past year.

Mmm yeah, Well u need a license in UK to keep some species of snakehead. They prob did just ban the lot of them in the US.

Snakeheads are illegal in the US. I know of no way around it.

Bowfins are an endangered species and Snakeheads are banned b/c they spread fast and eat native fish. The problem is that they can stay out of water for a long time and can "Walk" from body of water to body of water.
P.S. They are supposed to have really nasty bites.
