Hi folks,
I ordered some triops online and have been reading up about them ever since.
I still have some questions though, so I hope you guys could help me out. I want to do this right from the first time.
The kit I bought is just eggs, food and sand. So no detritus. I understand the need of detritus, but is just tossing in some leafs and twigs in the water enough to do the trick ( like it says on some sites )? My parents got a pond with lots of aquatic life, could I just bring home some of the water and toss the eggs in it, or is that to dangerous?
Also, i'd like to put some plants in the tank. Nothing fancy, just something like Elodea. Is it ok to put it in right from the start? Will this be a replacement for detritus? ( I just know they eat from it when they are big, not in the larvae stadium )
That's about it, if you have any other tips for me, they will be greatly appreciated.
( please excuse any language faults, english is not my mother tongue )
