I have a aquaclear 110 and am thinking of removing the charcoal pack and doubling up on the ceramic rings...Would this be a good idea?

Yep, I Never use charcoal... waste of space. Doubling up on ceramic bio rings is good idea.

I removed my carbon about 4 months ago and replaced with bio rings. AS I have really good tap water quality, it made sense for me. A friend of mine did that about a year ago and she swears by it. She only uses carbon to remove any meds from the water

Thanks for the info... I wouldn't want to remove any meds from the tank anyway...If I put it in there it will be for a reason and doing water changes will get rid of any left over meds in time anyway...
Hope your having a great day Cliff...

This just goes to show you that I’m not the brightest blub in the pack some days. I totally forgot to put a link to a post were I asked a very similar question a while back. I thought the advice I got from some other member might help you as well.
