I've read that the temperature of your tank can make a difference of life expectancy of your fish. To warm and they grow quicker and mature and die earlier. I have just surpassed 3 years on the 125. Other than doing the dirty work and buying fish for my girlfriend it was her hobby. I've had a illness and been off work for 4 months and joined AC and learned more than she. I'm now taking care of the 125 and the 75 and letting her take care of the 37. I am curious about temperature. Thermometers have a blue area for comfortability and is that range suitable for most fish. I understand guppies like it a little cooler but the 125 I can't get below 80 due to where it is sitting. Fish are very active and there is somewhere around 115 to 120 different species of Tetras,Danios, cardinals, and bla bla bla. Is there a basic guide to follow to prevent other types of algae growth, or bacterial infections due to the water temp. Curious, Algae is under control and not a problem. Just curious if other diseases can be acquired do to temp. Water changes of 15% every other week and 30% in between. Everything is good, just curious!!!!:feedback:

Some diseases can't handle coldwater, some thrive in both, others can adapt.

And warmer water does generally make most species of fish grow faster. Affects invertebrates more, in my opinion, though.
