The USDA has banned the import of Apple Snails. Many Florida Farmers still have a high stock of Apple Snails, so we don't need to worry any time soon.
Mystery Snails. The USDA Now requires a diffrent permit for each state Mystery snails are shipped too. The USDA also said since Mystery snails can not be distinguished from other snails when they are small, the sale of Mystery Snails 1.4" or larger are now only allowed for sale.

That sucks. We have tons of the snails here. Most of canada can have stingrays too, but some U.S countries cant. It sucks we cant have turtles here, its just that they carry salmonella so theyre banned

They have a minimum size 4 or 5". Too big for small children to handle

yeah supposedly, my pfs sell them when they are less than 1inch..but i think they breed them so im not sure..
They may have banned the import, but did they ban the sale? They reproduce VERY easily.

Stinkin alberta doesnt allow turtles. sheesh
Seems overly sensitive to me. I mean, come on. I can get salmonella from an egg. Or an iguana. Do they outlaw those, too?

someone up there in the gov't building (sry dont know what to call it where you live) has a personal vendetta against turtles methinks!

yeah, alberta isnt making sense. theres MANY ways to get salmonella. I really like some of the exotic fish we're allowed to get imported here

In England we don't have restrictions on any of those things, so much for the land of the free !

The problem with small turtles is that little kids want them, they take them out to play and don't wash there hands.
