Crayfish and plants DO NOT MIX. My crayfish is a terror! It eats, pulls up or shreds my plants. It isn't too bad, and the crayfish is too pretty to be mad at. It also pulls apart the bulbs I was trying to sprout. There are pieces everywhere. And it is holding my new nertite snail hostage! I have taken the snail out of the CF's cave four or five times already. And everytime I look it is back with the cave. The CF doesen't seem to be trying to eat the snail at all. I don't know, very odd....

This is the CF's cave, with the snail in the back.

I would expect the snail to be eaten by the CF one day.
They do like to shred plants!lol
They are best kept in a rocky tank.
That sure is a beauty though!thumbs2:

Wow he's very pretty. He's probably trying to eat the snail but can't so he just leaves him in his cave lol.

If he eats the snail then he eats the snail. But I never seen him try to eat the snail, and I watch the tank a lot. He just keeps it in the cave with him. Today the snail was aloud some time out.:hmm3grin2orange: He doesn't try to eat the anubias I have so I am going to try java fern. I have tons of it anyways. He is not eating the bulbs, just breaking them into pieces.

I've read that some crayfish eat snails. I have the opposite problem as you. My nerite is moving around my bulbs.
