Question: since putting my oscar on Hikari Bio Gold he doesn't take any frozen foods or much else, sometimes he'll have another Hikari pellet but not much. He'll sometimes have shrimp pellets, is this quite ok? I am going to try NLS for variety.

The Hikari Bio-Gold+ is high quality enough that if he refused everything else I would not worry. NLS would be good to try and see what he does with that.

My Oscars would do that all the time. They wouldn't want to eat anything for a day or so and then munch like crazy on anything I put in there. Mine were like that. Personally I think they are like kids. They eat only what they want when they want.

I have 2 different brand pellets, my oscar loves one but will not look at the other, if he gets confused and grabs it he spits it out, same with shrimp, he loves frozen, but spits out dried (i have even tried soaking it 1st)

if he takes the NLS he'll be doing just great

Well aren't they just fussy little buggers, I'll try some NLS as well as the Hikari - see if he decides to stop being a ratbag.

He had me worried but for no reason obviously!!:19:

Well i tried him & my jaguar on NLS they both spat them out then chased them later - fussy things - definitely like kids! The hard part is getting my oscar to eat before Mr Pleco cleans up the tank!

Try just not feeding them for about a week, then they should take it down no problem. Works with kids too.

Actually funny you say that, my 4 legged kids (3 cats) get particluarly fussy & starving them DOESN"T work.... thank goodness for biscuits! I will definitely try starving Mr O and Aggro (Jag) and see what they do!

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE
