Ok, I'm super excited about this new guy. he just went into a 2.5, with plans to move him to a 5 or 10 eventually. I bought a java moss for him to chill and hide in, and a Red Sea HOB nano-filter for 3 gallon or less tanks. He's black, with white tail fin highlights, and a well defined deep blood red coloring on his anal fin. He was $8.00, but well worth it. Now I have to hurry and find him a suitable heater. I'll post pictures as soon as I can get a camera. I named him Narcissus, as he won't stop trying to get at the male on the other side of the glass

Very cool!

I got a Red Sea nano filter as well, and I reallly like it. I did swap out what was in it and put an aquaclear sponge in instead. Matter of preference I guess.

Cant wait to see pics!

That filter is a rebranded Azoo Palm filter. They're great little filters but the default media sucks. The AC sponge is one way to improve the filter greatly. You can put the AC sponge inside and call it a day or you can make the AC sponge into a 'pre-filter' that goes on the intake and stuff the media compartment with bio-beads or something similar.

I gotta get a new one to replace one of mine as I managed to damage the impeller by sucking up sand but at $9 for the whole filter it's cheaper than just replacing the impeller in other filters.

Hope to see pics soon as that sounds like a beautiful Betta!

Yea the next one's gonna be from a breeder, but I'm not sure what colors to go with. Something that really pops I'm sure.
