how does rearranging the decor in a tank affect the fish?

i moved some things around and wondered how it affects the fish.
mostly wondered about territorial fish, like my rams.

thanks for your time :1luvu:

For one thing, fish that establish territories will need to find and re-establish new ones. For fish like mbuna, this is sometimes used to control aggression, especially when adding new fish to a tank.

It is a great tool to use when introducing new fish to break up existing fish's territorial space so the new ones are on equal playing grounds as the old fish. Some slight re-arangements of the tank doesnt bother the fish, in nature the landscapes are constantly changing and fish adapt just fine so no harm will come of it.

Can't add to the above... But I will say rearranging a tank is always fun because you can experiment with different looks!

Also, I have found that changing around my decorations makes me less aggressive...hehe?

I change mine around quite often.I do leave an area alone so its familiar to them.lol
Try not to bang rocks together at all and move slowly and the fish won't get too stressed.
