Thanks! :hmm3grin2orange:
yep its going to be mainly designed for shrimp planted 55g! Brand new.
Thats strange for me as it is only my second new tank.
I will definitely have Otocinclus.
I am considering Discus as well but not sure on that yet.
Its allot taller than I thought so as my other 46g bow front is mostly loaches I think I will go with more surface orientated fish.
And lots of shrimps!
Drift wood prices are killing me though...

About 4 bucks per lb shipped to your door. Supposedly one of the best LR available. Paying retail for LFS LR = lol. :P

About 100 shipped. At the LFS, you'll only get 10 lbs of LR for that price. I've come to discover LFS's are only good for buying fish, emergency supplies and tanks/stands. For everything else, they are a ripoff. Case in point, Visitherm Stealths retail for like 30-45 bucks.....lol

Awesome shrimp Shrimper!!:1luvu: Where the heck are you guys finding these shrimp? The only freshwater shrimp I've seen around here are the ghost shrimp....I would love to have some of these guys in my 30g...but would angels or a pearl gourami eat them?

Crystal red and cherry shrimp aren't carried by most LFS. One option is Aquabid, but the prices there are very high. Your best bet is to sign up for a forum like plantedtank.net and browse their swap and shop section. Very reasonable prices for cherry shrimp, and many of the big crystal red shrimp breeders are members there as well. In particular, look for gabeszone247 (ships from Japan) or kangshiang (ships from CA) for CRS. Cherry shrimp will be offered by most members for 1 dollar each.
You can also get special/rare varieties of shrimp, such as yellow ones, but they are very costly (though still cheaper than Aquabid or anywhere else)

Its rather risky for the shrimp with angels. Not to sure about the gourami as well.
I havent kept my shrimp with either species but I have a few stories of bad expierences with angels.
I'd try the ghost shrimps first if you are determined.
I have kept red cherry shrimp with dwarf(pea) puffers and they co existed.
Still fairly risky with predators.
I have one community tank with mostly loaches and the red cherries mutiply.
I wish I could find some cherries for a $1 a piece. I introduce new family lines on occassion.
Now days most of my tanks are shrimp only.
'm working on getting some new species today even. Goin to need some more tanks soon. :hmm3grin2orange:
My opinion 2manyfish is to start with the easier and cheaper ones.
Just be carefull not to get bit by the shrimp bug!!!

I keep my shrimp in a 25g with a pleco, GOURAMI, barracudas and they all get along ok.
