Mixing the rift lakes

I'm posting this in the Malawi and Tang forum; I don't think that's double posting - just trying to draw out as much experience as possible. If this is wrong, then I will accept a good modding as appropriate :)


Have people kept e.g. Malawi with Tangs or either or both with Victoria ?

Have people ignored the no Mbuna with Peacocks rule ?

Tropheus with something strange ? Tropheus in a less than 55L tank ?

Please share your experience if you have, and tell us what tank size you used and the species involvedl, and the male/female mix if that was/is relevant to your tank. I'd be very grateful and interested :)

I ignore every rule :-)
I just posted this on another thread but I do have peacocks with Mbuna and there are also electric blue ahli in there as well along with auratus P Kenny, scolofi and labs. A very colorful mix.
If I feed them small quantities often and maintain hiding spaces, the tank is VERY friendly. The only issue I had and is now gone was that my fish were sort of afraid when I walked into the room. I took some advice and put a moving fan near the tank and added a light timer and all is well.
