Fluval Filter Foam Pads?

I was doing a filter change on my Fluval 305 filter. The foam pads had turned a yellowish color. Is that indicative of any issues in the tank? Or just normal? It was the first time I had checked the pads since installation.

I have a 405 and my foam filter inserts turned a yellow-ish color about 4 to 6 weeks after set-up. From what I remember about the 305, the only difference between the two foam filters is the size and shape. As my tank is doing well, and all parameters are really good, I just assumed it was a part of normal use.

If your water parameters are good, then you have the BB you need and you shouldn’t worry.

Keep checking the parameters for a while to make sure the discoloration is nothing more than normal use, and you should be fine.
