I have a 29 gal tank (footprint 30x12) that currently houses 1 pair of kribensis and 1 german blue ram, male. I have tried dwarf gourami's, bolivian ram (female) and lastly 2 female german rams. "Demon" as he has been named is king of the tank and won't tolerate any of the above except the kribs! I don't want to add more kribs because my male is highly aggressive when spawning, but would like to see more activity in the tank. Any ideas on what may be able to hold its own with Demon??? Demon is the ONLY fish who never gets nipped from the kribs or any others I have tried. When I decided to try this tank I knew I may have to rehome some new friends because rams don't always mix well, but sheesh...nothing I have read as suggested tankmates have worked with him! Any suggestions? Or should I just keep things as they are???

Perhaps egyptian mouthbrooders or on of the lager apistogramma species.
