100g Up and Running

Finally got my 100g acrylic up and running.

It sits in a black stand with dual lighting, one for eventual plants and one for the fish.

Running a Rena XP3 as the only system for now. Sits too close to the wall to use a HOB.

Heating is via a 300w Stealth.

Base sand is size 3 and 5 white coral with lace rock (some from an older tank) on the left and sand gravel on the right with a nice piece of wood. May add another piece. The wood will be used to anchor the anubia's I will be adding. With this being a Tang tank, I do not know of any other plant that will survive the pH and hardness.

This has now been through one basic cycle and I have added 5 tiger tetras and 5 green tetras to help stabilize the system before I add my plants and the future inhabitants.

Enantiopus sp. "kilesa" x2 (wc)

Would like to add a couple more kilesas - 3 or 4 more....

No plans to breed at the moment and as of this time these all are (I think) males (the kilesas are male).

Probably will add a couple others but not sure as to type or quantity..

Want to do something with the center not sure what though..

Okay...
Update and a question.....

Have further decorated the tank (pics soon)
Have added a couple of likelike looking pieces of petrified wood to the center.
Have added a small Anubia and (for now) an Oriental Sword.
Large Anubia is on order.

Question: could this 100g be already cycled after 1.5 weeks?

I started with a good quantity of seed media from my Malawi tank, added an initial dose of ammonia on Day 1, then day two added 10 Tetras (5 Tiger, 5 Green).

I just let it cycle and have been out of state for the week (my son has been feeding my tanks... did a great job; no dead fish).
I tested the water today with he following results:
Ammonia - 0
Nitrites - trace
Nitrates - 5ppm
pH - 8.0

Cycle seems kind of quick and as I have 10 fish there is a bio-load to continue the cycle...

Thoughts?

FYI: the barbs were the cycle fish and since they can hold their own, I'll leave them there for now...

I get them from my main LFS and as long as I do not root them in the substrate, but keep them in wooled pots, rooted into driftwood or similiar they do well.
If they start looking a little anemic, I'll put them into my terrarium (brackish) leaves out of the water, roots/stem in water (high humidity) and let them grow a bit.

So far they are the only plant I have had luck with in my African tanks....

Have hopes for the Oriental Sword but.....
