I have ordered from them 20 times at least, and have good luck with them. I have never ordered anything from anywhere else since I have such good luck with them.

I tell everyone to order there, and I have seen very few problems and if there was then it was resolved with the store.

What online store do you use?

I use PETCO.com the most. Here is a list of online stores I use in order from using greatest to using least.

1. PETCO (Never Had a Problem, I think probably the best place you can order online)
2. Dr Foster and Smith/ Big als (Use them both the same)
3. Pet Solutions
4. Live Aquaria (Only Ordered Twice)
5. Value Pets (Only Ordered Once)

I mostly use DrsFoster&Smith and Bigalsonline, bigals always has great deals and something is always on sale, and DrF&S have everything under the sun but it can be a little pricey for some items.

I love this place:
tfdfish.com - Incredible quality fish - Ask for Joe ([Only Registered Users Can See Links.]) - Tell him you came from AC. "hopefully we can build up some margin for going there..lol"

WARNING THIS IS A WHOLESALER, HE OFTEN WILL NOT SELL TO YOU IF YOU LIVE NEAR A COMPETING COMMERCIAL CUSTOMER OF HIS.

Yes he does ship to canada..:)

If he doesn't have it or can't get it then I use aquabid if they dont have it then the typical vendors.

I use to use marine depot or big als online and have always had great luck, but since a friend opened a store down the road I order from him. He is very competitive and most of the time cheaper then any place online, and I don't have to pay for shipping. He has been able to get anything I've wanted so far, dry good or fish.

It is nice. The only thing he can't get is bulk reef supply stuff, but I have another friend who owns an aquarium cleaning business who is a BRS dealer so I get it from him, no shipping and cheaper then buying from BRS. Plus, he delivers:hmm3grin2orange:

DUDE!! You are set up sweet!! I'm jealous..:ssmile: .I miss my friend who owned a pet shop. He lives too far away now :scry: I used to just include my fish when I did the orders and sometimes he let me have one or two but usually I just pay for the ones I ordered for myself...lol (2) 150 gallon FW Preditor tanks, (2) 55 gal one salt one FW, (2) feeder tanks & a huge Iguana that had been brought back twice so I was given for free (for some reason It only let me touch it)... Ahhh the good old days.

PetSolutions policy is no extra shipping charges for overweight items, as well. At least that used to be their policy. No hiked up fees if you wanted to order plant substrate or a stand but I would make sure and check it out for yourself.

Its so funny I was just looking at the price list for TFD and its crazy what we pay at LFS after you see what they cost wholesale...lol
Guess they do have to make up the overhead somehow.

All of PETCO's overweight items are free shipping.

Also, I was planning on ordering some more fish supplies for my marine tank today and big als stuff is ALAWYS out of stock so I decided to go with Pet Solutions. I think Big Als is my least favorite online store. Petsolutions prices are just as good if not better than big als plus you get shipping options on petsolutions.

Yeah, i just ordered from big als for my first time, it comes in the next couple of days. Petsolutions is the way to go, they dont cram stuff in a box, I go to glass tops in its own big box and jammed with paper for they dont move. Quality.

True! I dont know how i forgot about this guy but Ive bought a lot of random tid bits from him since seeing you recommend him, and everything is always priced well and he does good business. His specialty foods make things really easy and less costly.

I placed an order with Ken 2 weeks ago, the order was placed around noon, had a shipping notice within 2 hours, went out the same daythumbs2:

My biggest issue with BigAls is his website in general. The descriptions of his products are totally lame and lacking any information. Other sites give total information on each product and BigAl's tells you nothing. Another thing I hate is signing in under the old email address I used 6 years ago that has since changed twice since then. When email addy's are changed, the log in should coincide with your current information, seems to me.

I placed an order yesterday with ThatPetPlace. Another good place to order from. That one and PetSolutions are my two top choices for online ordering.

These days:
BulkReefSupply
DrsFosters&Smith
Kensfish

Occasionally:
TheFilterGuys
Marine Depot

Rarely:
ReefSpecialty
Aquacave
DIYReef (Out of Business)

Used to but haven't in years:
Big Al's
Pet Solutions
ThatFishPlace

I went poking around PetSolutions yesterday. It wasn't any less or greater than Big Al's. Neither site told me if Kent's Plant Pro contained copper or not, their tank stands were nothing to get excited about, ect.

Meh! It's just another online warehouse to order from. I've never ordered from Dr. Fosters but it seems like every other post I read about them involves either some type of shipping issue or something is broken when it arrives.

I guess it all depends on what people are willing to put up with...

Poking around a website will not get you the best "info" about them, I would order from them or whoever it is before you start to judge/base your thoughts of them.

Are you a stockholder?

If the information that is presented is no different from another company, ordering from a new company would be moot. As for the shipping ordeal, I guess people are just pulling these stories from thin air? It's a conspiracy perhaps...

How did you know? Your so good, and you have no point here? All I was saying is before you judge on information etc, try ordering. Thats all, did not look for a argument:22: And I am not talking about dr fosters, never ordered from there, but your petsolutions comment.

Ya know, I've been wanting to order from this company but I can't afford a $200 minimum order. :(

I know TFD sells on Aquabid but if they're not listing the fish I want then it's not much help.

Will they sell to you without a business license?

I order from Foster and Smith, BigAl's, and eBay... heh.

Joe will work with ya just let him know you were referred by AC Forums. Usually I just save up or get a few friends together. But like I said he will work with you.

When you go to the website [Only Registered Users Can See Links.] you will see his price you can download as pdf. That lists everything he currently has in stock. You typically order by phone he prefers you use the 877 number its toll free.

You dont need any licence to order from them. There is only one reason he will not sell to you and that is if there is a commercial customer of his very close to your address. If that is true he will let you know when you give him address.

Like I said earlier I love the prices its incredible when you see what stuff really costs all the retailers...lol

It would be nice if anyone from around my area would split a order with me.
