Hello,

I recently put my 30 gallon back together and moved my 8 pengiun tetras and 8 bloodfin tetras over. I am thinking of adding another school of tetras at some point. I've done some research and I've really fallen in love with the silvertip and blue tetras.

However, I have read that these two species can be a little aggressive for tetras, often nipping other tetras of similar size (which the bloodfins and pengiuns are). Does anyone have any experience with these fish? Is aggression really an issue with these fish?

Thanks!

I have blue tetras. They are super active and nippy between eachother. But I have a larger school, they may be nippy towards other fish in a smaller school. I know silver tips can also be nippy too. With you 30 I would just increase the schools you have now. In my 30 I have one good size school of ruby barbs and I think another school would be too much. I also have a few other fish, pearl gouramis, krib, female convict cichild.

How big is your school of blues?
