I didn't realize we lived so close to each other! It's right down the road from me! I was there on Saturday and they said in about 2 weeks they should have the fish rooms open! :19:

Wow! Here in Pa too!
I'm not too far away for a road trip either! If you call 2 hours + a short trip!

That looks awesome! It looks like a big building, so it should keep you busy for a while!
450 tanks? That's it?
Here's a real pet store ....

8000 square meters and over 1000 tanks!
Kidding aside, it's great that you'll have a store like that in your area, sounds like they at least would know what they are talking about if you have any questions.

The old store burned and the floor collapsed down onto the fish room...It's been awhile, but now their low prices are back! Everything is cheaper by at least a buck or two. And yes, everyone there is good in the fish knowledge department, at least from what I can tell so far. They have all types of lighting fixtures and tons of pond stuff, and a variety of large tanks.
They don't carry New Life Spectrum food, however. They "have too many brands already, and some very similar to NLS".
I am SO jealous. Our LFS is tiny, wish I lived near something larger. What is the maximum distance/time you folks think would be safe to transport fish?

that all depends on how big the fish is and how much water it has. I'd say small tropical fish can last at least 2 hours in a decent amount of water. Temp would be the only prob on a couple hour trip.
That's what I'm thinking, too. I'd almost have to set up some kind of transportable tank with a heater to make it work.
