I don't know a lot about them but I do know they are from Madagascar, they grow quite large, about a foot, and they are actually big enough to be considered a food fish for human consumption.
They are peaceful but require huge tanks, like an Arowana.
Hope this helps?

has anybody heard of the green acara. the guy at the pet shop told me that they were young green acara but I can't find any info at all. they're about 4cm long & look fairly simialer in shape to other acaras & are developing neon blue markings around there face/chin.

I bought six juveniles through Dave's Rare Aquarium Fish. This is my dream cichlid. I've wanted one since the previous Millenium. These pictures are of my dominant female. Her name is 'Glory'.
