Ive had good look on craigslist. After I got my first tank as a gift and realized that fish keeping is probably one of my favorite things to put time into, I looked and got my 30 and 55 for 80$. they were dirty but nothing a trip to the spray wash wouldnt fix. Now they look pretty good if I may say so.

forgot to mention he gave me a huge container of seachem matrix carbon. Dont know if this is any good. I have heard that carbon isnt necessary and I have also heard it can be good.

Great deal on the filters. I don't know if there is anything special about that brand of carbon the only reason I would use carbon would be to remove any meds.

Well about carbon, if you can siphon off some tank water into a
white bucket and it looks clear, you don't need carbon.
But if it looks yellow, like my 125 always did, then carbon will
bring it back crystal clear again. You don't notice the yellow in the tank
and partials don't get rid of it completely, but after running the carbon
I shure could tell a difference in the way it looked, and the water in
the bucket was clear again.
My 125 has been running for over 15 yrs, and every once in a while
I'll run carbon to get rid of the yellow in the bucket syndrome.
It does make a difference.
