a week ago, i thought my betta looked a tiny bit pudgy, so i quit feeding him pellets for a few days. I found out why- he will eat ANY of the regular fishes foods. Flakes, frozen krill, pellets, bloodworm, you name it.
Do they just adapt to the food, or is he a piggy?
It has been my experience that they will indeed eat anything. My daughter's betta eats the same thing as the other tanks do--combination of bloodworms, spirulina, and OSI tropical flakes. He might be a piggy, too though!

Mine's a piggy too, he will eat anything. At least we know they're healthy:19: A betta that's a piggy is a healthy betta :thumb:

My betta is mostly carnivorous, which is quite normal. SO any meat food will usually work
But he never touches Flakes or Algae Wafers! He seems to like the shrimp pellets or dried shrimp
Fun thing about bettas is they have a personality. Mine will come greet me whenever i come close... probably he just wants food tho :P
Here's Mr. Plakat hanging out, eating algae wafers with the snails...

Nice plakat, and nice pic.
I think that they do adapt to foods, when my betta was in his own 7 gal tank he would barely eat, he only ate the red sinking pellets, after adding some Endleri guppy he now eats anything i put in and if I lift the lid and stand over the tank he jumps out of the water to try and get food from me!

lol, the betta in my planted tank is going crazy. If i put in flakes, he goes right beside the angels and steals flakes from them.
