the last 2 minutes were really intense, up until they scored that empty net goal and sealed it....that was the best thing ive seen on the olympics so far.

That game disgusted me.lol They could have played better.
Blocking shots and screening your goalie are two different things!
Brodeur wasn't the only that could have played better.
Canada didn't start playing intense until the final 3:09 seconds.
It sure seemed that way.
I wonder if they will beat Germany and then Russia.

It has been a sad weekend for the Canadian Olympians.

By far the most exciting part of the Olympics. Hockey has always been my sport and Brian Rafalski lives like a half hour from where I live so the fact that he got 3 points made me kind of happy. Good game for USA, but good game for Canada also.

Miller was crazy good compared to our goalie! I wish they at least had luongo in there! Well all we can do now is hope to beat Germany!

Brodeur should have been pulled after the first.
He was to shaky handling the puck all night.
I do hope he tries out for the Blue Jays!lol
Batting the puck should be left for the kids not Olympians.
Canada was passing the puck way to slow for most of the game too.
How mant turnovers and easy break aways did the US get because of that.
Way too many rookie mistakes happened.

They had a lot of chances but missed with most every shot that was a foot off the ice.

Miller wasn't even on his best game. look at Crosby's goal. Of course it was a typical X+Crosby goal, no talent invovled, just at the rght place. Ovechkins way better, and Russias gone beat them with their own high powered offense. It'll be a shootout hough, but I've got Russia, 7-6 OT. Canada almost lost to Switzerland, come on..

If Luongo is in net, Canada will win. Brodeur is overrated and his style is outdated, as shown on the second US goal. If he was a butterfly style, it would've been an easy save. Not saying he isn't one of the best, but not the best. Any goalie playing with NJ would have good stats, with the trap and them being a defensive team

i am of course very happy/proud that usa won the game, but i also feel sympathy for the canadian fans who are of course hosting the olympics. i know how much the fans wanted that one and i know how much it sucks to lose heartbreaking games when you are very passionate about your sport...

oh yeah i am watching it!! yeah it has been great and it has heated up with tons of time left...lots of very close ones hitting the iron....not to mention usa missing a goal by 1/10th of a second at the end of the second period

they had a goal taken away, too. it could have very easily been 3-0, if not for a fraction of a second.the swiss played very well and i do agree that fatigue probably played a large part, but that is what they get for losing to us in the first game.

there have been a lot of really great games. i am enjoying it a whole lot

if you guys win, i will congratulate you and say you deserved it...i will not make up a whole bunch of excuses and say you got lucky. i actually believe in sportsmanship and that includes not acting like an ass, win or lose. if u.s. wins gold, i will be loud and obnoxious in front of my tv, but i will not try to make you and the other canadian fans feel bad about it. i get happy for my team winning, not for the other team losing. i hope we get to see that matchup; i actually look forward to it. right now, i like our chances against anybody, but for now i am not looking past finland. they are no pushover

Its a great practice game for the States.The Fins don't seem to be getting any coaching.
That goalie should have been changed after the second goal.
Half the second and no goal with the replacement.

i know that, really...i just wished we had pulled it off. we sure did give you a scare though, didnt we?? it was a very good game and the teams were very evenly matched. if it were a best of 7, surely they would play all seven games to decide it. there is something special about sudden-death games though, and canada was the better team today; it was well-earned. i know how much it means to everybody there, so i am very happy for all of you. i bet it is a big celebration.
